WSB at catalina

I know everyone is thinking yt, but when does the WSB bite start off catalina in the spring?  I am going to do a summer trip to catalina for the yt and wsb. June?

That would be a great trip.  Sounds expensive to get your own kayak on to the Island ($40 each way, I think I read), though.  So many trips so little time...
