After some modifications to my "Boogieyak" and purchase of a new Kokatat dry (top only) I was anxious to give a shake down run today at the cove. Only saw one other power boat out.  Everything worked well, landed a 27" ling and went back home.  Very impressed with the comfortable new top.  Trolled a herring on a norseman hook rig on my downrigger for salmon but no takers.  Had a nice south wind to help me back to the launch.  Thought I may see Eric lurking around out there but didn't happen.

Hi Dan,

Eric told me that you're Tommy's Dad.  One of the lot I owned up there is next to Tommy's house.  Sorry to see that beautiful home burned to the ground!  I'll stop by and say "Hello" to Tommy at his Pizza's place next time I'm up there.  Thank you for your fishing report.

Hey Big Jim - You're welcome.  Thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us.  I have been telling friends here in Shelter Cove about the guy that won first prize - how nobody could have picked a better or nicer guy to win that yak.  It's guys like you and Erick (and many more) that really help set the tone and make NCKA special.  It's more than just being nice, you are outstanding and NCKA will have a great future with guys like you in the lead!  Bring "Big Blue" up anytime, I need to learn your secrets!      Boogieman

I wish I was out there, Dan - I was in Las Vegas for a business trip.  Glad to be back in Humboldt - I don't need to go back to that place.   :smt009

Way to go on the ling.  Hopefully I'll see you soon.   :smt001
