The collapsible hook one will... but they get stuck and you dont get them back a lot. I use 12# mushroom. Got dragged around on the 10#.

I use a bracket I made and a 10+lb lead pyramid that I poured. It works great in the American in all conditions riffles and flat water.  Word of advise DO NOT USE A FLUKE ANCHOR IN THE AMERICAN! Those things are the fastest way to flip a boat!

I use a bracket I made and a 10+lb lead pyramid that I poured. It works great in the American in all conditions riffles and flat water.  Word of advise DO NOT USE A FLUKE ANCHOR IN THE AMERICAN! Those things are the fastest way to flip a boat!
Also anytime you anchor in current or tidal conditions (moving water) you should have a quick release set-up on your anchor line.
If anything large (tree stump,branch)floats down on your anchor line it will sink you in seconds.
Consider the anchor and rope disposable like a weight belt (not worth dying for).

Totally agree, whats not pictured is my clam cleat where all it takes is a quick pull and your free. Your life is not worth $15 dollars
