Whoa...where did this come from?  We recently saw you at Paradise and thought you just had a cold.  Even though you were a little under the weather you were the same ole wise cracking, smack talking...about-to-head-to-Alaska Mooch.

I've worked for different companies that manufacture oncology drugs and to put a face to the work we do many of the patients are invited to speak to the employees.  With your "tude" I'm expecting you to be one of the cancer survivors that will be talking to us.  Hang in there and we'll be rooting you.

Mooch, we've. Only chatted through this forum, but I wanted to send you a well wish and positive vibes, asborb all the good vibes coming in brother. I have a close reationship with cancer, and I hate it, but you seem to have just the right energy to beat it. I truely believe that.

     I kept putting off reading about your Alaska move for one reason or another, then today I thought I'd check to see how it was going up there for you and have an armchair adventure as Alaska meets the Mooch. 
     I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said, but you can count me as another who will not think of fishing without thinking of you and wishing you strength and recovery.  We don't see each other often, but it seems like we're old friends when we do.  Let me know if I can help.

Joel, I haven't been on the boards for a while due to work and just read this. I am saddened to hear the news but know that most things boil down to mind over matter. And from what I can tell from your reports and from those that are close to you say, you have the attitude to kick this thing. I met you and Adam in person at the San Mateo show several years ago an knew then that you were a top notch guy, the kind you don't come across very often. My wife and I hold you in our prayers and wish you a speedy recovery.
