My westmarine vhf150 finally went out, one month after the 3 yr warranty expired. I asked the gal at the counter if they had a built in timer. She wasn't amused. They charge $65 just to open the radio up to tell you its shot or repairable. NOT WORTH IT ! She showed me the new line-up but I decided to do some research on a new vhf. Did a vhf topic search on good ol NCKA and found some old posts, one led me to boatersland. I ended up getting a standard horizon 750s closeout special for $99.99 + shipping, no tax online. Its a 6 watt radio and got excellent reviews. I paid $160 for my old one. Pays to shop around.  FYI

I find your comment quite amusing, hilarious in fact.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune though.  Glad to hear you scored a super deal.  Wish others used the search function as well as you do.
