Maybe we could go out sometime? i don't know anyone who dives, kinda hesitant to go by myself
You've gotten some good advice here and you've been up front about your lack of knowledge and experience which is a good indicator that you'll exercise good judgement,  With that said I think the most important thing for you is to hook up with an experienced diver for your first outing or take a class.

Get a float line and don't use the poly rope. Some people use the poly rope and that's fine but it tangles easier and you don't want to mess with that as a new diver.

Many divers never go deeper than 20-30 feet. If you aren't going to be going deep you should consider a regular mask. The low volume masks are much better for deeper diving but most of them have a restricted field of view.
