... I like to eat the Pacific Sardine!

So I hear they're in the bay - but how do I target them? Are there haunts where they're likely to show? I've hit Ft Baker a couple times, but no love there.

And what about dragging a net for them? Would that be legal? I'm picturing a mini purse-seine with a few floats at the top and some lead at the bottom. Find a school and scoop 'em up.

A BBQ sizzling with sardines would be the bomb.

I don't know about netting them but last year they were everywhere at Tomales and a Sabiki was all that was needed.  I understand that it was unusual to get them in such large numbers as last year.  Maybe they will be back again?

Yeah, last year I got all I wanted out of Santa Cruz with just the sabiki rig. I'm aiming to grill some this year, 'after seeing EricB's "'dines on the grill"" photo.

Someone mentioned there are sardines currently in the oakland estuary.  Sabiki will work.

Thanks! I think I'll give Oakland a try - never been fishing over there. Some 'dines for the barbie and maybe dangle one at Paradise.
