When they get up here Lake Hennesy and Cuttings Wharf isn't the VA in Yountville we can get Zin to provide rides :smt002

As soon as I catch up with myself, The VA in Yountville is the next Target...
they are already doing some outings at Berryesa with PBer's,

Their going to Love this...  The Clavey gang has offered to help out when we get going up there with Yaks and Gear,

I'll have to check out lake Hennesy,... good fishing and access?

and is Cuttings slow moving with low PB traffic?

Great job D.

Glad to see the Vets getting out on the water. It looks like they really enjoyed themselves.

Your a good man for making this happen.

WTG Don,
Your a class act! :thumleft:
I would be happy to help out if, or when, "Hero's on The Water" expands to the Redding/North Valley area.
I'm sure our area has some "Hero's" that would benefit from the program.
We have many lakes & rivers that would fit the criteria.

Keep up the great work,
Tad

Don, if you need another one in my area you just let me know, I know of another cool and pretty much private lake around here.  access is all private but i'm willing to go on a door knocking campaign to see if we can get in.

Don it got me thinking of EBMUD they have some primo lakes like Briones that never get fished legally. I'm sure the other H2O Companies do too.

Santa Clara has Calero and Anderson, decent fishing, LOTS of boat traffic.  Chesbro and Uvas are non-gas powered engines only, virtually no boat traffic, fishing has always been hit or miss for me.  They are both out n the boonies, rushing anyone to a hospital may not be possible.  Stevens creek is the same way, have not fished there in years....actually, haven't fished any of them in years due to lack of time, need for reservations and now the mussel inspections.

Delta might be a good option, lots of fish, plenty of marinas have picnic space and no inspections.
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

Not so much worried about getting to a Hospital, just want to be able to get to the Vets on the water easily, believe me, with the support were going to have, we just need to get them to the shore.

So where would be a Good Place to fish that is about a hour and a half from the VA Palo Alto, and hopefully fit my wish list of criteria?

How bout Ben Loman and is it a Nice lake for this kind of thing?

We will be coordinating with the VA Out Patent Clinic in Stockton, lets see how it works out and that might be a Good Thing...

  Thanks Again

Don,

Thanks for the plug but you are doing the hard stuff, all I did was connect the dots.  My $0.02, my boss at the VA really wants to support this as well.  One of things I may make a recommendation on, is it keep in the Palo Alto Va area (The following Counties cover VAPA: Southern San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterrey, San Benito, Callaveras, Stanislaus, Merced, Tuolumne).  If you are working with any of VA Palo Alto facilities (Livermore, Stockton, Modesto, Sonora, Menlo Park, Capitola all fall under PA). Logistically it makes life easier.  Depending on the day and location, I can bring out "Bertha" the mobile medical clinic, and if some one lives close by and doesn't mind hauling my yak I am willing to offer it up for the mission.
