I have a tentative plan to meet my friend Tommy (from SF) at the north end of salt point for an ab-fish shoot either on Saturday or Sunday. So first if anyone's interested we'd be honored with company.

Second, is it still open?  As the MLPA dude, I, of all people, should know....but I don't.

If your interested in a farewell dive to possibly the best dive spot in Norcal, we're thinking about meeting at that S-turn before Fisk Mill ( I think).  It's the place where the old barn has fallen down into a heap.  We're likely not going to bring yaks....shore dive.

Wish I can help.  I'm not sure with all the recent changes and when it'll take effect!

Dave I've heard two stories on this. First I heard salt point was closed as part of the mlpa but most recently I've heard that it was still open. I certainly hope for the latter. It would be silly to close that place with the abundance of fish and abalone that thrives on the local reefs.

Curious to see whether it's closed or not.

Word is they didn't get something filed in time so it's still open through the month.

I forwarded you an email but from what I know it is open based on the DFG response. I think Craig replied it will be open until 5/1. I am hopeful for a dive on Sunday.

Here's the latest news I have recieved, FGC has an email list (for anyone who signs up) to inform interested parties to the official implementation date. This note seems to just say that it's moved thru another step and will be implemented "soon".

I said my goodbyes to Horseshoe last fall and won't go back for a bittersweet dive even in as you say one of the best dive spots ever.

If you get a chance to get in there enjoy!!!!!

Hey Dave,
I will be up there on weekend of 5/1. I would like to give it a try.
We should print out any documentation we can, just in case FnG are questionable themselves. It would not be the first time.

Does anyone have a good link that maps out the closures? I've searched before and found only slow loading PDFs showing various proposed scenarios with cryptic names. I would hope DFG would make info about this huge change readily accessible and obvious for all Califonia fishermen.

Maybe it's already stickied somewhere on this board and I missed it?
