Maybe best to think of Home Depot as Costco for hardware. They stock the shelves, have lots of stuff, and you buy it.

When folks complain about staff not knowing shit, I say...lower your expectations. It will always be that way. If I can find someone to tell me where something is, I consider that a good HD day.

I went to home depot last week for a few extra boards to top off my 6x12' garden planter box.  I'd purchased most of the wood at Mintons & needed a few more 2x4's and a 2x8x12' piece for the "bench" top.  So here I am, rummaging through the wood looking for pieces that aren't all f'd up & loading them onto my cart when I miraculously find one.  This includes pulling a 12' long 2x8 from the 2nd tier shelf, above my head, once I determined that the 30-odd pieces in the lower stack were all crap.  I counted 4 different Home Depot employees who walked by without ever asking if I needed a hand.  Oh...did I mention that I was wearing a sling and doing this all with one arm?  :smt101

Didn't mean to thread-jack though...looking forward to seeing pics of your finished cleaning station! (in use, of course!)
