I was gonna hit up the rockwall with some shiners to try for the flat bastards but the wind kept us off the water.

We opted for plan B and fished off the pier in Paradise. No halibut for us but we saw a couple landed by some dudes drifting outside. Another one was landed by a guy on the pier as well so it is defininitely starting to happen out there.

I landed one decent striper that taped out @ 27". Nothing big but a good dinner fish to go with the salmon from the day before.

Occaisional rain squalls and gusts of wind but overall another nice day on the water.

Sorry for the cell phone pics but it's all I had.

Thanks Jim!

It's been a long winter that's for sure. Three more weeks and you'll be slaying em down there in the Kelp beds. Can't wait for the fish tacos!

Great report and way to make good on a day that kept you off the water.  That is a real nice sriper!  Did you have to pull it to the beach or did you have enough test to pull if from the straight up to the pier?

Hey, didn't my buddy and I talk to you? We were in the yaks. He caught a huge copper rockfish and had something else rippin some line off for a bit, but it came off. I got skunked.

Glad you scored from the pier. That's a nice striper.

Hey Zinful we used a crab net to bring the striper up. Was a bit of a challenge since I'm new to the whole pier thing but we managed. Helps to really tire them out first.

Whats up Rockhopper! I didn't recognize you in the parking lot. Thats cool your buddy caught a big copper in the bay. I caught a brown rockfish in the bay before but coppers are supposed to be in deep water? Next time we'll join you guys on the yaks we just had too late of a start today.

We used both I chucked a swimbait for a while to pass the time but ended up getting bit on a live shiner from Mikes bait. Use a lite weight and try to keep them off the bottom because the crabs are bad down there three of us went through a dozen baits in just a couple of hours.
