Lake Alpine recon

Took a drive up the hill to go to the Bear Valley pond skimming (people in speedos etc. on skis and snowboards trying to cross a long pond) Video soon on that.

But I went up see the status of Lake Alpine. It is closed at the first gate still and still a bunch of snow so I didnt get to see the actual lake. Going to go up at the end of next week. I want to be one of the first people on the water once the ice starts melting off the lake.

Looks like 6 weeks minimum to ice out. 

Yeah but they are forecasting 18-24 inches of snow tomorrow and Monday for Bear Valley which is below Lake Alpine, so we will see.

  That gate needs to be opened!  I'm sure the local 4x4 junkies would have all that snow gone in no time!
