Thanks everyone for the nice comments on my last post.  Freddie, that crappie was on a t-rigged worm.  Here is the second report, just in time for the weekend.

Got out again for two shorter days of bassin' on the delta.  Good bite despite the cold weather.  Yesterday I got a couple good ones up to four pounds (pic 1) on the senko.  Flipped the t-rig next to some tullies and let it sit for a few seconds, when I go to check the line, it tightens and I set the hook hard!  Looked like someone turned on the washing machine, then she jumped head a-shakin' and splashing...great fight and she hunkered down in the weeds until I gently pull her up into the net.  A bit over 8 pounds (pic 2), released right where I caught her.  Ended the day yesterday with 9 fish total, most were your typical 2-3 pound bass, but a lot of fun anyway.

Today was really cold out there, but the fish were still biting.  I got a couple on the senko again, then I switch back to the t-rig and flip it next to some pennywort.  The line moves off to the right and tigtens up.  Then the line goes slack, damn she dropped it.  The fish have been dropping the bait at any sign of line pressure, so I let it sit a second and slowly start to tighten it up, and she still has it...Bam!... solid hook-up.  She takes off and does a good jump, takes some line out and eventually settles into the net.  Another big bass, 7 pounds 7 ounces.  About 23.5 inches and 17 inch girth, pic 3.  Nice fish, and safely released.  I ended up with a couple more, totaling 8 for the day, but nothing else big.  I headed in after a short 4.5 hour day.  There's always tomorrow and Monday to get another big fish...

Four pounder

Eight pounder

Sevn and a half pounder
