Bayside Fish Report F.Y.I. Salmon Season begins April 3

SALMON SEASON OPENS APRIL 3 2010
March 28
There is only a week to go before the opener so get ready. There has been a few anglers looking for Halibut near the Mile Buoy and there has been a few caught. Get your fishing tackle ready for the Salmon opener on April 3.   
March 15
I just spoke to the P.F.M.C. and there will be a opener for Salmon on April 3 2010. The season is expected to go through the year but there will be one more meeting on April 15 that may close or change the season on May 1 2010. The P.F.M.C. adopts their season for the federal waters every year on May 1. This means that the state of California is the only entity to change the season for the state waters which is not probable. So get your boat, rods, reels, and Salmon tackle out and ready for the April 3 opener! 
We will be open early this Saturday for live Pile worms, live Shrimp and frozen products for the Perch Tournament. I have some nice tray bait while supply lasts for the Salmon opener! 
March 13
The Halibut fishing has started and the water is warming up. I fished for a few hours on Thursday and caught one nice Halibut on dead Squid. The inshore season is starting and it is time to use your boats. There is word of a Salmon opener on April 3 2010. I will keep you posted.
