I slept in and made it in the water about 7:30, stayed until 1:30.  The stripers were not biting like the other day, I only found three really small ones.  I lost a couple but it was nothing like before.  I did find three good largemouth and two dinks,  which means, in my mind, this was my most successful outing of the year.
I forgot, like always to check out the launch in the park next to big break marina,  I was too excited about the fish to remember anything else.

Wow!!  Those are some quality fish out of big break.  I always had terrible luck there.  Thanks for sharing

It's a  "Rainbow Worms Bowfish Paddletail Swimbait 5 Inch *3 pack".  I just got these at Hi's a few days ago, and I am very impressed with their durability and softness.  Way better durability than basstrix.  I was using a 3/8 ounce weighted screwlock hook which will drop to an 8 foot bottom and stay down there pretty easily.  For the largemouth, a steady retrieve shallow past the corners of tule islands.  For stripers I was jerking it back like an unweighted fluke along the bottom in 8 feet of water where the current was pushing up out of deeper channels.
I am having trouble uploading picture, you can check it out on Hi's Tackle box website

opie,

thanks for the report..
I searched that launch question and didn't you start or reply to a thread back in NOV 09 re: that park before Big Break Marina? someone replied its a 1/4 mile walk from the parking lot in which case I would just suck it up and pay the $10..
I know what you mean..the excitement of getting on the water prevents me from exploring.

good pics and thanks for the swim bait info..I have been meaning to try that technique.. I bought some from Outdoor Pro shop but haven't had much luck with them. (perhaps wrong time of year).

thanks for the report.

Dude I never thought about wearing Sorels on a boat! That's not a bad idea! Not sure my size 13's would fit into my Tarpon tho.  :smt005
