another reason to love the swiss

When I was a little kid I lived in Switzerland for a couple of years.  I remember coming back to America and being shocked that there was trash in the streets.

You know how the Caltrain conductors come through to check that people have tickets?  They generally don't have to do that in Switzerland, because, you know, you would never get on the train without a ticket.  A German acquaintance once took advantage of this, and when the old Swiss lady next to him learned he didn't have a ticket, she was so disturbed that she bought him a ticket herself.

I don't mean anything pro- or anti-gun.  Just saying it's a very... responsible country.  Also, litter sucks.

Litter is my pet peeve.  when I see someone toss a butt out their car window I have unhealthy urges to follow them home ad throttle em.

Switzerland sounds like my kinda place.

If you like their gun laws you would love their immigrations laws.  Born there, parents had to be legally there.  Marry a Swiss. Other than really difficult to move there.  I knew some Italian who worked in Switzerland and they said they had to leave every 12-or 15 months (12 sticks in my mind but I may be wrong).  You had to leave for a few months not just go out of country and come back.

And people complain abou t our immigration policies

As a matter of fact, my parents applied to stay.  They were quality people (if I can say so), but... rejected!

In an alternate universe somewhere is a Swiss version of me.
