I clicked on the Shimano TLD 15 and selected 40 lb Power Pro...it looks as though the line is free, but that seems unlikely.

Anyone have experience with this company? Are they good, trustworthy, etc?

I know my local shop line is free with a new reel even spectra. But I dont have any experience with that company.

Andrew the 15 is a bit of overkill for halibut and rockfish and salmon.TLD Star 20/40s is a better all around reel if you are going that way. Stripers in the surf would love that reel. See you soon, Craig

Too late! I bought mine months ago...this one os for my brother. I like the lever drag. It seems like you have more control. Thanks for the tip Craig - I'll take it under advisement  :smt002
