Went to Donner on Saturday looking for some Maks and potential browns or rainbows.  Got to the lake at about 9:30ish.  Launched and threw out a 6'' rainbow trout rapala only a short distance out so when i found how deep they were on the fish finder i could hook it on the downrigger.  About  100 away from the launch i get a hit like thing. Since its my mak rod it feels like nothing, start reeling its a little rainbow less than 10in.  It gets about 20 feet from the kayak and an underwater shadow just slams it!! :smt107  Im thinking SWEET!!  after about 10 minutes i reel up a nice 7lb mak! Rest of the day i trolled the rapala for 3 rainbows( all about the size of my lure :smt005) and 3 more maks, all under 3lbs.

All in all Great Day OTW
Mike

P.S. i was trolling on the far bank, away from the freeway.
Everybody should have the opportunity to fish

SWEEET!!! WTG. I always get hung up trolling that shoreline. Probably too close to the houses.

I missed you out there. I showed up around 10:00.  Hung around the north and west end of the lake.  Just one little rainbow for me.
