Decided to try something different from the normal east bay lakes I'm used to. Since the weather was super nice I decided to take the kayak and make the 2 hour drive over to Camanche for the first time. Passed up the pond which seemed pretty busy with bankers and float tubers and launched from the south shore about 10:30. Started out trolling flashers with nightcrawlers, switched to jointed rapalas, then a needlefish. No takers, so since it started to get windy I didn't really want to fight the current and decided to explore the main part of the lake another day. So I anchored up near the launch, basically right across from it and soaked some bait while having lunch. Missed my first bite, then caught 4 after that. 2 on a poweregg combo first, then rainbow powerbait on the last 2. They got bigger each time, from 14.5 to 15, 16, then the last at 17". Felt pretty nice to get back to the launch with almost a full stringer...and it was a beautiful day out there!

good work, I am taking the kids there tomorrow morning I think.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
