It looks like a silver salmon to me.

Travis,

That looks like a nice place to fish. I like to try it some time. I never yet had a chance to fish in fresh water with my kayak. I fish in Donner lake each time i head to Reno and I've caught several Kokanee salmon out of that lake. There very fun to catch with light tackle and very cool looking when there in there spawning colors, with brilliant firetruck red bodies and green (hooked jaw) head.

That river trip looks absolutely awesome.  I think I know where that is.  Would love to set something up and do some paddling and fishing in that area.  Let's try to organize a paddle for thanksgiving or thereabouts.

I am going to agree with alien, it's a kokanee; land-locked salmon.
