Had a chance to get the new yak (warranty replacement) into the water for the second time and wanted to see how the new set up for the transducer was going to work out.  Instead of being attached it is now floating in a small amount of water inside of two foam collars.  Seemed to get a good picture but was only in up to 80 feet of agua.  Water color was great but the cold front was nasty!  It did not take me long once launched to see a large nasty looking cloud heading my way so I headed straight for the island off shore and huddled under a tree on the windless side of the island.  I did this a few times when needed and trolled around and threw casts for an hour or two inbetween squalls.  No sign of life, but again, not a great day to be fishing!  Great day for a work out and being the only person on the lake or even in the parking lot was SWEET!

Nice pics. But why only 80ft of water is that the deepest you went or is your ff not working properly.

there was no reason to go deeper, I was not looking for trout.  By the way the last picture was from yesterday right under the hatchery at Lake Sonoma!  Thought it might be fun to give somebody a heart attack!

How did you like your new ride?  Thanks for the report and pictures of the beautiful lake Jim!

  Hi Zinful,
Which parking lot is that?  Berryessa is on my short list of new places to try and that looks like a nice launch.
                   Thanks,

It seems the lake had gone up quite a bit Jim. I'll be trolling that lake pretty soon before the halibut season starts.

That is Oak Shores on the west side of the lake!  Great to be back on the yak and can't wait for a warm stretch to get the fish blood pumping!
