Went out to CC again for a sunny day of sturgeon fishing. Fished through the high tide and the first part of the outgoing, from about 11-3. Didn't get any sturgeons, didn't see any one else catch any either. I caught lots of crabs, biggish dungeness that hold onto the leader long enough to wave at you and say "Thanks for lunch!" and then let go. I caught one fish, a 12" red tail surfperch, released. I was a little surprised to see a surfperch out in the SP Bay flats. I guess they get around...

I fished off of Mc Nears in our boat yesterday and tried to hail any NCKA anglers to no avail.  Too many crabs for me to did not stay long.

Kmstorm: It is a Penn reel but not that old. It's a 209 level wind, about 3 years old.

Craig: I'm not in AOTY, no points for me.

A little early for babies I think , red-tails I've caught in June/July were all pg and babies about ready to be born . Never caught one in the bay before , at first thought it was a joke !

OOOPS , wrong quote .

that might be a barred surfperch, they do give birth in the bay, probably other places too.

I hear those red tail perch are good eats. Keep at it with the sturgeon fishing
Mike. You'll get one soon enough.
