I'd like to go out in the So. Bay (Dunbarton Bridge area) or (Alviso area) to chase some sturgies.  Any suggestions to where to launch and without having to pull my kayak thru mud in low tide.

Just man up and pull it in or time the tides...launch at don edwards refuge near the dumbarton pier, nice an easy but there is mud there. They have a good ranger there so it is a bit safer than the west side

Redwood City Harbor or Palo Alto windsurf dock. Both require a decent paddle. I am thinking anything more south of PA and you'll be getting into some pretty poor water (low oxygen). You can use the satellite view on google maps and fine the launches

They have been getting sturgeon in the very south bay from marker 16 to marker 18. 18 is a long way. I nearly made it to 17 last weekend but it took a while (which means less time soaking bait). Launching the east side puts you at the train bridge in less than 30 minutes from the launch if you time the tide right.

Thxs for the comments :>  I used to launch my 14 Gregor out of Alviso years ago and if my memory serves me right, needed atleast 1 1/2' high to bring it back to the launch ramp without dragging thru the mud.  Which I didn't make all the time and dragging a 14' gregor isn't fun :<

I work in SJ and like to bring my yak down and try some PM outings.
I checked out Oyster Point the other day and will hit that area in a couple months for the butts.

I'm also staying in Pacifica while I'm down here working and would like hit up the stripers out there soon.

COOL I've haven't heard that Alviso is going to re-open.  That's GREAT news and hope to take advantage of that Marina.
