Anybody up for China Camp in the rain on Sunday? I'm only going to give sturgeon one or two more tries before I move and this will be one of them. It is supposed to be raining so cold weather gear and gortex will be necessary. Any hardy souls want to give it a shot?

Jay, I have a good solid and honest report of 2 sturgeon caught up in the Petaluma River by the winery. One @ 61 inches and the other @ 55 inches. On the same day in the same boat. The specifics are not know to me yet as to what kind of bait they were using or the tide. It was last Monday, Presidents Day. There is a place to launch just south of the Novato dumps at a place called Mira Monte Marina. I am thinking long and hard of the Pet River for these reasons alone. I will join you if the weather is raining but not howling. If the river looks to be the best bet I will be there. Craig

I know I posted the hookup, but I think I'm going to bail on this one. I have come to the conclusion that sturgeon fishing feels a whole lot more like a hassle than fun for me.  :smt005

I've only got a few trips left in California before I move, so I think I am going to admit defeat when it comes to catching a sturgeon and focus on my favorite places. I think a trip to Del Valle is in order for me tomorrow. Sorry for the misdirection!  :smt006

no worries, the tides aren't great tomorrow anway.  I am going to crash on my boat tonight and decide in the morning if I want to head up into SP Bay.  Have fun on the lake!

No problem.  I'll try fishing the local area then.  Good luck at Del Valle Jay!
