Looking for opinions on what to look for in a heat gun, and perhaps any reviews from those people who already own one.

Hojo make sure you get one that has a plate so it can sit it on your workbench with the nozzle facing up at an angle so you don't have to hold when working with small stuff or turn it off eveytime you set it down.

I have a Makita one that puts out 2200 degress. It does not have the resting pad that Mike is talking about though. But I have had for over 10 years and its still working great. Dont go cheap is what I would say or they will burn out. I also have one that I bought from the Mac tool dude that comes around to the shop. 2200 also. It has the resting pad that screws into the housing of the gun.

Andy, I will be using the gun for heat shrinking but want one for loosening linoleum tile glue. I'm looking at a Bosch heat gun that has a built-in stand, as Mike suggested, and has a variable temp switch instead of a hot/cold setting. The stand will be of little use with the linoleum; so I want some control over the temp. Would be nice to have one with digital temp read-outs, but don't think it's worth the extra money.
