Matt, I have a 60 cm Mako with twin 16 mm bands. It's very compact and light but has plenty of power. You can't beat the price and the warranty is impressive.

I feel better now that Fuzz confirmed trash talking is important. I do that very well as I'm sitting on a wash rock puking as AbMan dives in the 10 foot swell.

:smt044 Abman is not human. He is a barrel of air thinly disguised as a human being. The man can dive.

Amphibian, those Mako guns look really nice.  I like the intigrated rail.  Do you have an open or closed muzzle on yours?  Did you special order the 60 cm, all I see on their site are 75cm.  I think you have a good combo with the 60cm and double bands.  It would be a great hole gun but with enough punch for Halibut.  Thanks for the advise, I think I may jump on one of those guns for a low vis and hole gun.

Call them and they will make anything you want. I have a closed on my 90 and open on the other two. I would recommend an open for a hole gun. Mako didn't have shafts short enough for a 60 so they sent me a longer shaft and I cut it down.

For dive season prep I've stopped watching the Food Network and switched to Speargun Hunter. Plus I backed off to half a case of beer per day...
Seriously though, I swim a mile freestyle plus 1/3 mile underwater laps 3-4 times per week year round unless I'm diving. Plus 1 Claustahler daily (party on!).
