Launched with the youngun at Paradise Cay, looking for perch around the riprap. No joy there. We talked to a PBer who says the halibut have started to show. He was marking bait on his FF and pulled in some with a cast net. By the time we got switched to sabikis we had drifted halfway down to the park :smt011. Bounced the sabikis around for nada.

Beautiful day though. Once the fog burned off around noon it was actually hot. I was in a T-shirt and the lad was shirtless under his PFD until we loaded the yaks at 4:30. A far cry from earlier in the month.

Anyone know a good place for perch on that shoreline? We started off headed to the R&G club but the fog was thick in the AM.

It's foggy at Lake Chabot til almost noon time.  But it's beautiful the rest of the day.  Guess I'm not the only one got skunk  :smt003  Thanks for the report fishwrapper.

i seen them get hooked in those pilings north of the pier, south of the cay. also, the shore lady seemed to nail them right in front of the cay rip-rap(where the restrooms are).
your on the right path, catch a small perch and send it down for a Halibut slup-up snack.
Thanks for the report of t-shirts on the bay.....i sweated doing yardwork.

That's where we were headed. I was too lazy to huff the hill at the park... hence the launch at the cay. Then when we got OTW I didn't like the upstream paddle back from the pilings.... did I mention it was pretty warm out there?

Dude, next time remember my yard. It's nice and cool. Probably from the jungle overgrowth.  :smt004
