Went out this morning with a friend. Get his 1 day license and sturgeon card, and talk to Flash Fishing. He was going to Broad Slough to start, and I figured that may be a good thought. Sunny at Martinez launch. Head to the bridge and fog comes in. less than a 1/4 mile vis. So I head towards the sandbar area and see a party boat, so figure I am out of the channel. Rig up with eel and grass shrimp. Lots of little bites, and roaring tide water. 8oz to hold bottom. Friend hooks and lands two sturgeon for a total of 40". Each baby about 20" long at most. That was it for the day. Marked some nice fish, but maybe the 49 degree water slowed down the bite. Fog in and out all day, and got colder as the time went by. Pulled the plug at 2pm and the tide going slack.
