Yo, im really thinking about getting this thing.

http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=29

I did some searches and it hasn't come out with a firmware update yet or any addon packs yet. Anyone here own one?

Or this thing.

http://sanyo.com/xacti/english/products/vpc_wh1/index.html

Thanks!

I just got a HD flip (video) for xmas. They have a waterproof housing. Shoots pretty good video. So may give it a shot.

May not be as good as the second link you sent, but the Optio W80 digi cam has HD resolution, at 30 FPS.  Can be found for 150$ - 200$ online, and its a really cool lil camera. So unless you need 60 FPS (overkill for youtube) its a pretty good deal!

I got the GoPro HD about 2 weeks ago... I got it specifically for whitewater kayaking.  Used it last weekend on the South Fork of the American River on the Gorge ru  (Class III) and it worked great (I used the "Chesty" mount, which is extra).  Also used it yesterday while pheasant hunting.

Turns out my computer doesn't have the oomph to process HD video so I'm builind a new one with an AMD quad-core processor... the video looks great though on the TV...

You can post HD video up to 500 MB per week for free on www.vimeo.com. Anything larger than that will cost.

The GoPro HD is waaaaaaay water proof... I only use it in gnarly whitewater environments and it hasn't failed me yet.

BE aware the Go Pro does not float, sinks like a stone. Found this out the hard way down in Baja after only about 15 minutes of use.  :smt013
Glad I didn't pay for it :smt009
