Alfredo will probably correct me if I am wrong, but I believe they are called disc blade for a disc 'harrow'.

-Brian G

Yep, "PLAIN DISC HARROW BLADES". The link you posted offers them.

I think I trashed a stack of those a year or two ago during an inventory write-off.

Yep see al's link. 20" for $16 and free shipping. just need to weld the hole in the middle and add some handles and fry away. With 2.25 inch of depth I am not even sure if I need to add a rim to it

How would you go about perparing them for cooking.

once i get the welding done I plan on heating it up and seasoning it with some fat....just like a cast iron pan. if there is some sort of a coating on it I will be breaking out the flap wheel and taking it off first. i am guesing its either cast iron or plain old steel....We'll see

Why bother? You could probably find a giant wok in the asian restaurant supplies store for $20 or so. My small one is only $12.  :smt005

If anyone else is looking, I have a stainless steel model that I've never used. Shortly after I bought it, I picked up an oilless fryer. Asking $50.
