Now that I have taken up yak fishing, for my 2010 summer family camping, I'd like to go where I can yak fish, dive for abalone, enjoy the woods, ocean, hike - all within a reasonably short distance.  I'm sure such a campground exists somewhere between Ft. Ross and northward.  I live in San Ramon and would prefer not to drive longer than 4 hours or so.

I'd also like a recommendation for all of the above minus the abalone diving, which would give me options for going south (Big Sur, Cambria, Santa Cruz).  I've been to Henry Coe redwoods.  In fact, it was on the last day there that we drove down to Capitola and saw a kayak fishermman last August, which started the whole madness for me !

Thx for the recommendations and Happy New Year.

Stillwater Cove, has showers and is a sonoma County Park, then there's Salt Pt State park no showers but a little nicer surroundings.  Both within minutes north of Ft Ross. Both also have good access and yak launching, as well as great diving and fishing..
