Hey Seabreeze or any other monterey local:

Is it going to be too rough to head out of Stillwater tomorrow morning?

SAT...NW WINDS 20 TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 4 TO 6 FT. NW SWELL 13 TO 16 FT AT 15 SECONDS. .

I want to get out bad, but don't want to waste the trip down.

Martin,
If I were you, I'd save the gas.  On two occassions, I hit Carmel and literally got blown out.  Once was 5-15 knots and the other 10-20.  both times we launched, but it was just not fishable.  Super fast drift plus whitecaps.

I probably could have fished by Monterey as a plan "B", but instead, loaded up and drove home.  Its a crappy feeling, and you'd be driving a lot longer way than I did.

Good luck,
Stuart

PS, I still remember the thrill when you landed that salmon.  Hope all is well.

Yakuza,
6-8' swell is a good time. 13  might be a bit sketchy.
Save the gas. Get your honey-do's done.
