My Brother-in-law wanted to try some yak fishing. So he used one of my inflatables. We didn't get to the lake till almost 11am. Pumped up and set sail.

Mike in the x2.

I was up till 2 am installing a couple rod holders I had ordered from Hook1. Here they are.

A couple extenders and 2 different rod holders. I wanted to see which I liked more. Through out the day we got some nice fish.

I ended up with the holders in this position.

I really liked the ability to put a rod in... let line out then rotate the holder forward a bit. They worked great for trolling. I like the tube holder better and will be changing the other out.

We made our way back in.

A rainbow was out.

Sunset.

Mike really enjoyed it. All except for the drag pushing the inflatable around. He's starting to look for a T13 now I think :) We ended the day catching around 15 fish each. I had a real nice one escape my net on the troll back in... folks had to hear my yell a few miles away. Orange 2" seps grubs, powerbait, orange and pink trout worms were all used with success. A boater I chatted with mentioned wedding rings working on the surface for him.

edit - I also lost my new gortex jacket :( I think I drove off with in on the top of my car. It was a XL blue Reeltree I just got for $39 at sportsmans.

Patrick - Orange was color that worked best for us today. I got a few on bright pink though. Next weekend you say? :) :)

Dilbeck - Those were given to me for free with my Kayak purchase from OEX (kayakfishingsupplies.com)

Thank you!  In your picture, the red cord looks like surgical tubing but on their website it looks like bungee.  Can you tell me what it actually is.

Michael - They are a bungy material.

I like them for the front rods. But using them on the net or rods in the rear holders is a pain or me. Im gonna try getting a couple coil style leashes.
