If none of the moderators has any objections to this post. I would like to post this as an FYI.  I know there a few Veterans here and would like to pass this on from time to time.  I know there may be some of you who do not have health insurance and who are Veterans, so I hope this may be a service to you.  Recently I switched jobs and am working for the VA Palo Alto/Menlo Park VA.  I work with the Rural Health Out Reach Team and we go around area serving Veterans in the more rural areas. Yesterday I was in Santa Cruz (they have a well established relationship in SC), Friday I will be in HMB at the AMVETS Building (correct me if I am wrong, that is near Pillar Point).  We will be there around 9:30 to 1 PM.  If you are an Honorably Discharged Vet and need to be seen or not come by and see us. Even if you don't need to be treated or you have insurance and are happy with what ever you have for health care come on by.  I am willing to bet we all know a Vet who could stand some sort of support and that is what this program is for to out reach to Veterans.  We will have an Admin Guy with us to help with paperwork, a Nurse Practitioner, and at least 1 MD and possibly a Resident. From what I understand we should be out there every third Friday of the Month.

Other place I know we are going to after the new year is: Coulterville, Watsonville, Santa Cruz, San Jose Shelter, and as we can establish contact with other Veterans Organizations new places will be added.  If you have questions PM me and I, understand I am new and learning this as I go, so if I don't know the answer, I work with people who do or who can point me to the person who does.

If you know a Vet who lives in the HMB area pass this on, this is a newer program that is growing.  In the future we are looking to add a Social Worker tot he team and some other folks.  If the VA system has seemed intimidating in the past this is a good way to get into it.

If you belong to a veterans Org that wasn't posted earlier contact me and we can start working to get us out to your location.  We have two mobile "clinics"  a new state of the Art 36 foot one a 24 foot one.  I think for HMB we will use the 24 footer as parking may be difficult for the big beast.

My thanks for allowing this to get posted.
