Connect with us!Sign up for email alerts...Follow us on Twitter...SOUTH KOHALA, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii island police are asking for the public's assistance in locating Jason Winbush, a kayaker reported missing in the South Kohala area. They say Winbush's identification was discovered when they found a green kayak floating upside-down in waters off South Kohala.

Winbush is described as African-American, 6-foot-2, about 160 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair worn in dreadlocks. He also has a beard, a mustache and a tattoo on his forehead. He is known to frequent Waipio Valley and Hapuna Beach on Hawaii island and also the island of Maui.

Winbush also goes by the names Jason Wilcox, Ken Washington, Ken Wilcox, "WJ" and "JW."

Police ask that anyone with information on Winbush's whereabouts call Officer Edward Lewis Jr. at 887-3082 or the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
