badog,

Thanks for the interesting report. What road is Schafer Bridge on?
Can the trip be cut back to 3-4 hrs? If so, where would one plan take out?

smokie, he essentially did waterford, ca to empire,ca .  the trip can be floated in less than 4 hours, but you really can not fish it in less than that.

he and i did a shorter trip earlier this year and it still took 8 hours because of all the good spots to fish.

Put in is on 6796 Oakdale Rd, outside of Merced. The trip is about 5.25 miles. The takeout is on Sante Fe outside of Merced. There are also a lot of great fishing on the Tuolumne river also. If you have any questions about the rivers feel free to PM myself.
If you ever want to float either river I will definitely go!!!

Smokie, lots of SM on the Tuolumne river, also LM, crappie, carp. You could take 3 days to fish 5 miles of river if you wanted to!!
