I want to try some crabbing on the yak and was wondering how you guys are keeping the crabs on the yak after they come on board.
Any helpful tips would be much appreciated.

Depending on the depth/steepness of the sides of your tankwell you can just toss 'em in there.  A bucket is ideal but it can get in the way of hauling rings/traps...etc.

Onion bags - good scavenger work, Eric.  :thumright:

Great idea, but not necessarily cheaper - most coffee shops will gladly give you their burlap sacks as well if you ask too.  :smt001

Until the first time their covered with fish slime & other briny aromas!  But yes, they do smell good at first. If anyone wants coffee sacks, let me know - lots of coffee joints around me that are usually glad to give them away.

aaron i need a couple.

i dont drink coffee and i am too scared to ask by myself.  make sure they are big ones and they have been washed already.  also get me a tall half caf mocha latte while you're at it.

now you see why you're friends with me.  so that i can make you do things.

Thanks for all the great tips. I'll try the onion bag. I think it'll be light to haul around than the burlap bag, especially when it gets wet.

I have a medium dive bag, works great for fish and crabs.

Ditto...they are thicker than onion sacks, and help prevent getting pinched.
