Started out a little late and launched @ 8:15. Met Ed at the Point and we decided to head out even though the swell was really mixing things up. We started fishing in @ 75 ft of water and I hooked a decent Verm. Later on I managed a 26" Ling, a copper and released a few small Blacks. The fish were bitting, but the Ocean was like a washing machine and not much kelp to tie up to. Lost a few rigs in the process. All in all a good finish for 09.
Glad to meet you Ed.....ciao  aka-Kimo

Way to finish it out.  Got your dinner and a good time.  I am fighting a nasty cold or maybe I'd been out there once before you!

Sorry to hear that Tom. I know your weekends have been busy, too bad that cold found you at the end of the RF season. We might have to get in on this crabbing stuff, take care....aka-kimo

That bottom fish looks like it's been eating good.  Way to end the season.

It was nice to meet Ed and Ben at SWS on the last Day of RF season.
I would have liked to meet Aka-Kimo but he was in a hurry when he passed us on the steps without much to say - maybe next time.
Met Ben (fishfarmer) in the parking lot at 8am helped carry the yaks down but the tide was above the bottom 3 steps so we staged on the steps themselves. Also met Ed ? as he was rigging up (nice Guy).
First tried inside with a few scattered fish but not much to talk about so Ben and I decided to head out to where Ed and the other (than unnamed) kayaker were fishing. After about an hour with very little luck we decided to head in to calmer waters of the cove. Within a few minutes of getting into the cove the bite began to improve and it was game on with a bite on almost every drop. The weather even began to improve as we able to stay on the water till just before sunset.
All in all it was a great way to spend the last day of rockfish season with a mixed bag of Ling, Cabizone, Browns and pretty much every thing you could think of.
Can't wait till next season

Congrat on your end-of-RF-season catches.  Thanks for the report and picture.

Pardon my haste, im usually at that launch 2 hours earlier and felt rushed to get outside the point before the winds close down the fishing window. Nice seeing you guys on the water, glad you had a fun RF closer...aka-kimo
