well got to stillwater a little later than planned, otw by 8. paddled around with a couple friends dropping swimbaits. Got alot of short hits, downsized to a 4 inch FT, ended up losing some tackle to the kelp. Frustrated about forgetting bait, and losing what little tackle I brought I tied on a 6oz sardine color iron. As soon as I started fishing the jig I started hooking up, water clarity was good,(20-25ft) I could see the jig get hit on the way up. Once the tide started falling it was hard to fish vertical, we were just drifting too fast. My buddy kept 4 nice fish, I kept 7 we released alot of undersized fish, no lings for us. Met a couple ncka'ers out there, sorry if I don't remember your names, we were time limited and got a late start. Hope you all did well. Next on my list is to get a decent camera to take out there. The day turned out nice water was calm, little wind, too bad I had to leave, can't wait till next year.

Right on, mpn - way to get out there and do it!  Switching to an iron (or some days switching to plastic...) can be the ticket, and it's always really cool to see your offering get tagged by the finny critters below.  Also glad to hear you have a camera on your X-mas list.   :smt001
