I met up with Hobie Dave at Big Break this morning after a quick stop for some Bullheads at a local bait shop.  Unfortunately the fishing was really slow.  I managed to score a shaker LMB on a rattle trap as we were heading out of the marina.  I don't think we were in the water 5 minutes when I caught it.  It seemed like it was gonna be a good day based on the early action but it wasn't to be.  I didn't get a single bite the rest of the day on the Bullheads or the rattle traps.  Dave got one Striper just before we left around 2:00.  Unfortunately, it was 1/2 inch short.  We left without a single fish but Dave's smoked Halibut and the brews were great as usual.  Still a great day on the water in the yaks!  We plan to fish MBK next Wednesday (Veteran's Day).  Company welcome.

At least you caught a LMB & not a skunk!  :smt003  Thanks for the report Martin.

Mike you shouldn't surmise that any spot isn't holding quality fish just because I don't produce. Had you been there, readers probably would be seeing fish pictures w/ a success story. My first screen name choice was to be "Hobie Skunk" NCKA Jed said it was too negative. Not wrong, just too negative. Still had a great day. My happiest moments are those OTW w/ NCKA friends

I miss your homemade brew Martin. BTW, Dave has been smoking quite a bit of fish lately and they have been so good. Even my little girls ask to come over to
Dave's house for some smoked fish. :smt001 Anyhow, good luck on your next
outing. I have a strong feeling we will be seeing big fish being landed by you  guys
soon.
