My good friend is selling his Dolphin motor home.  It's the small one based on a Toyota pickup.  Has a working generator, heater, and new a/c, fridge, stove, etc.  It's older, ('87, I think?), but has only 20k miles.  He's looking for 5k, but is motivated since he just bought a larger RV.

If anyone's interested I'll put you in touch.  It's in Castro Valley.

No room for a yak, but it does have a trailer hitch.

I think posting pictures will go a long way in selling it!

It's not mine, Sonny, just passing it along...  It looks like this, but imagine a newer style Toyota.  It has the 22R motor.

Those Dolphins are super cool. 20k miles on it, that's barley broken in. By '87 werent all the 22R's (carb) replaced with the 22RE (EFI) ?

I apologise for posting with vague info...

It's the 22R engine for certain, (no efi), but the newer body style than the pic, so I'm guessing 86-87?

My 89 was fuel injected, I thought that was the first year?

But yea, they are cool little rigs.  The smallest RV you can get with all the amenities, I think, and they fit in a regular parking spot.

If I had 5k lying around, and a place to park that puppy, I'd be on that like a bum on a baloney sandwich...  but I don't  :smt012

The first year for fuel injected 22re was late 1984 to 1985. The carbuerated version of the 22r was available as late as 1989 or 1990. I'm pretty sure you could get them in 1990 on the stripped down models. The first generation body changed in 1984 and then they changed again in 1990 to the more round style which lasted for 6 more years untill 1996 and the birth of the tacoma.

Both are good engines with the 22re making slightly more horsepower and a couple more mpg as well versus the 22r.
