not to far. I am gonna try a new launch spot so it may only be a few hundred yards. I suppose you could try just about any place. I just like the mouth of the harbor neat the channel. They seem to stick to the channel edges esp at low tide

Eric,

Have you ever launched under the Dumbarton bridge and paddled out to the deep water, I never have but it looks like a fairly short paddle and I think there might be some good sharkin and sturgeon.

never seen a NCKA post for that area, but driving by it looks doable

Any on info on that area would be appreciated.

I've launched there before and did well on sharks and rays with my old buddy Greg 6MHZ.  very short paddle, but couple words of caution.  first, its not a place you really want to leave your car, even during the day there is a chance of incidents because the area is kind of nowhere.  second, its a mudfest during low tides.  RWC is much cleaner, literally.

I grew up fishing off the Dumbarton Bridge directly.
We'd park on the Newark side and walk to the middle of the bridge and fish off the pylons!
1 sturgeon and a hundred leopards over the years between 1970-73.
