Did not get OTW till 10:30, in no Big Hurry for anything, so I decided to go for a exploration... note to self, next time go with Tide.... :smt002

Worked my way Against the in flow to the Powerlines... Baby Striper City....

Must be about a GaZillion of these palm sized Bait snatchers....

A Few monster leapers, hung out till dark with not much to show but undersized stripers.

Fast moving outgo kicked My Butt on the way back, was actually thankful NOT to have a monster Dino in my Tankwell...

talked with PB'ers, not much going with them either,

Something needs to happen here, I don't think the Herd has arrived yet...

Way to be there despite the bite. Monte can be hot, keep it up!

Thanks for the report Danglin. I was thinking about heading back there Thursday but maybe some crabbing is in my future instead. There is a dino out there with my name on it though :smt003

I love that place!! :smt007  they seem to mock us regularly, but if you don't have a hook in the water, you don't stand a chance.
Thanks for the pics!!

i'll be honest jim - those little stripers are not very fun to catch if you're using sturgeon gear.  they are fine if you are using light tackle - but what if you hook a sturgeon?

Funny you should bring that up.... I was talking with a Local Dino slayer at the ramp,

Dude uses an Ultralight with Braid in several different leaders, 2lb being the main spool...... with the 2lb or very light braid, he is able to use very light weight to stay on the bottom...

I'm still trying to figure out what he was talking about last night.... he had the pics to prove it's success....

Unbelievable.....

you can catch sturgeon on very light tackle, especially from a boat - but is it responsible fishing?  if you are keeping it, that's fine, but if you're C&R then you're probably wearing the fish out way too much on light gear like that.
