Has anyone used the Cobra Tourer? It's a 15 foot dual hatch yak that looks like it would be good for diving. I've only seen pictures and haven't used one.

My son paddled one for years.  It was a sporty boat for its time, but that time has passed.

Thanks. I'm selling my Tarpon 130 and want to replace it with something that has big useable hatches for diving and very rough surf landings. I have my adventure which is fast and has a big front hatch but I would like something a couple inches wider for stability when I'm dressing/undressing out on the water. I don't like doing long paddles with my 7mm open cell suit top on. I like the Tarpon DH for speed but I may just go with the xfactor and not worry about the easy glide.

For diving you should get something with a big center hatch, either one of the Tridents or a Marauder.  Center hatches make stowing and retrieving your gear painless.

For stability and storage you should check out one of those old Mallotte scout 2's. They are outdated but they are fast and extremely stable. I could stand up on mine and do a backflip without turning over. Unsinkable due to a large foam area under the seating area that is bulkheaded. You can get them for pretty cheap too if you can find one.The best thing about these for diving is the fact that all the corners are rounded and its smooth fiberglass so after you take your weight belt off and either hang it or put it in the rear storage compartment you can slide like a GD seal right up onto the boat.
