scully, there should be tons of stripers near you in the delta.  sherman island has been very good.  be careful out there though.

WTTM Scully! (That's "welcome to the madness" here in NCKA-acronym-land)

Without knowing your paddling skill level it's kinda hard to recommend spots, but bottom fishing for rockfish, lingcod, and halibut is pretty good all over in the salt. Stripers & halis & sturgeon can be "on" in the bay too.
If you cruise around the site you'll see some good places to get started.

One word of warning-BassManBen's caution is pretty much the norm here. If you haven't been paddling long-that's where its at. Kayak fishing is 90% kayaking and 10% fishing. It can be very dangerous out there on the big blue  (SF Bay especially)

So without knowing you personally my recommendation is:

1.take an into to paddling class from someplace reputable like California canoe & Kayak or Aquan sports
2. Hang around the site here for a week or so, introduce yourself and soak it in, and check the hookups section for some potential fishing partners

Once you feel comfy, post your own hookup & jump in. We're all pretty cool here, we just want folks to play safe.

Montezuma Slough is about to get red hot on stripers but again safety first!
