Heading down that area for the week of Thanksgiving.  Been thinking for a few years of hitting the ocean for some lobsters in the yak, and looks like I will be having the chance.  Anyone going to be in the area for the holidays or have some pointers?

Oily bait or live macks,
Short soak or they will rob you blind
When you pull the trap don't slow down or they will jump out

Rich,

There's a nice reef in Leucadia (north of San Diego) that we dove in the 70's that was loaded with  BIG bugs.

We would bring a couple big cans of Alpo dog food, punch a bunch of holes in the cans, set them by the edge of the reef, and wait.... Man that was good times.....
