Just when it couldn't get any worse, I just heard Super Typhoon Parma is now heading to the Philippines. It is going to be one bad ass storm. I am praying for your families and fellow countrymen. Please let us know how is goes.

Yep, not good. Can't overstate the magnitude of the disaster already & this next storm could really wreak havoc with the relief efforts & create more devastation.

A couple links with info on relief efforts:

I'd like to get an NCKA "for a good cause" event going (donations to be made to support the flood victims of the Philippines)...

Perhaps a non-kayak event so we can get even the non-kayakers involved (people from Pier Fishing and Fishsniffer).... I'm thinking about a Perch Derby along the Hwy1 Coastline...or  even a shark fishing derby along Burlingame / San Mateo shoreline.

Any thoughts or other ideas? I'm all ears.

Let's do it, Mooch. Good idea to open it beyond yaks to broaden the participation. I'm a little strapped for time right now, but I'd be glad to help in any way I can.

I personally think a Perch Derby is the ideal--equal access since it will be shored based for everyone, serious fire-breathing competition over mere ounces of difference, fishing fishing from nice beaches allowing all kinds of eating and partying ;-) And all for a good cause for people in great need. I am in--even if I cannot make it.

Great idea brutha Mooch! Let's help the folks back home. I'll participate and lend a hand in support of the needy back home! When are you thinking this might happen?

Frank
I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
