Anyone got any good ideas for a fall foliage drive?  Where and When?  Seems like Carson Pass is a good candidate.

Don't have time for a mini vacation until after October, so its gotta be a weekend driving thing.

Thanks for any help.

Hope Valley/Highway 88 and Monitor Pass to a lesser extent are usually very colorful.  the trees don't change at the same time every year, best to call Sorenson's resort http://www.sorensensresort.com/
for peak foilage times.  great lunch stop at Hope Valley Resort/Campground/Cafe/Store too!

Thanks atavuss.  I'll call Hope Valley and see whats up.  although if I'm that close to tahoe, i might be tempted to bring a yak and/or hit the tables ... :smt044

lots of lakes in the area to hit, you could always check out the fall foilage while you drive by with your yak on your way to a fishing spot!
