Being Asian (Filipino) we love all types if sea critters, such as Mussel and Roe (Fish Eggs), we are pretty much aware that during "red tide" its a big no no to eat any shellfish specially mussel or oyster they can be really fatal if eaten with red tide, many known to died back in our homeland eating such shellfish (I guess everyone knows that) but this one really surprise me! The Cabezon Roe are similar and can be fatal, I never know that! Until I was at HMB Tourney (Thanks Hojoman!), That being said is there anymore poisonous catch that most of us not aware of, please do share Thanks...

so is the roe of the cabezon poisonous because they are a crustacean eater, and are eating them during the red tide? or is it always a no-no?

I'm glad that you remembered, Darius. Saved you a severe tummyache.

Darius, Ling Cod and halibut are also poisonous.  Fortunately I have developed an immunity to the toxin, so feel free to give me all the lings and butts you catch. :smt044 :smt044 :smt003
