I have been keeping my eyes open as I drove around my neighborhood and on craigslist for a trailer that I could pimp out. I just can't stop pimping. My neighbor 5 houses down had a tough as hell looking trailer. So on a whim I stopped by and asked if he was selling it. He said yes and the deal was done. The first two pics are what she looked like when I got it home. The bed itself is 4 x 6. I really liked the fact that it has full size wheels and tires (I do need to get a spare, anyone got a 15" six stud wheel and 215 75R tire they wanna unload?). As for the pimping I gave it a cleaning and ground down the surface rust. A quick shot with some silver paint and the frame looks great. I added a plank of OSB that I painted flat black (I think Andy/FM1 will love the color scheme). As for the racks I originally wanted to do a front and rear two level "T" bar like Yakhopper but my welding skills blow and I didn't want to shell out cash for square tubing (I'm still unemployed). Then I remembered I had an old steel shelving unit laying around and the light bulb went off. So I added an upright to each corner (the holes matched almost perfectly). I added the cross bars which happened to be 4 ft wide. As for storage I picked up two heavy duty bins from Lowes. I mounted them using carriage bolts and wing nuts on the inside so I could remove them and toss them in my truck in case I don't use the trailer. All my gear fits in one bin. I did have to get new tail lights but it was a simple 4 pin set up. I added some tie downs. The final touch was adding some stickers. Now all I need is a tote bottle opener (the wife has a shopping list for her garage sale/flea market). And of course I need an NCKA sticker. As for travel I plan on having the long boats on the penthouse level on a side angle kinda like a hull-a-vator set up. That should allow two side by side. But until I find them they will go upside down for transport.

Let me know if I missed anything or if you have some ideas that I missed.

nice! you should pad those bars so they don't rub on your yaks. Pipe insulation works good and is fairly tough.

What good is a trailer if you don't bring it up to the coast? Where have you been? Let's fish/dive.

Eric, i notice that you loaded the boat upside down on the trailer.  Aren't the 50 lb lead ingots that you store in the hull gonna fall out?

nice bargain buy!

I think one each for the crossbars. So 4 assuming the pool noodles are 4 ft long. My .99 store had them. I laugh when I see them selling for $6 each at a sporting good store. What a mark up. I'm guessing it cost about .02 to make them in china

You're just weak! Spend more time in the gym and less at the strip clubs!
